Pays d’Auge and Cider Route
Between Lisieux and the coast, the pays d’Auge lines up orchards, stud farms and flower-filled villages. The Cider Route winds between Beuvron-en-Auge, one of the most beautiful villages in France, and the hamlets of Cambremer. Stop at a producer, share a board of camembert, pont-l’évêque and livarot with a glass of sweet cider. A gourmet date that often ends with a pommeau.
Norman Switzerland
Between Caen and Flers, the Orne has carved spectacular gorges and shaped Norman Switzerland. In Clécy, nicknamed its capital, you can canoe, paraglide or climb the cliffs. The Roche d’Oëtre offers a little further on a striking viewpoint over a river bend. An active date for lovers of the outdoors and gentle thrills.
Bayeux and the Bessin
Spared during the Second World War, Bayeux keeps a majestic Gothic cathedral and houses the famous tapestry, an 11th-century embroidered comic strip. Around it, the Bessin lines up stone manors, hedgerows and country markets. On Lyad, people from the Calvados share their favourite villages; a chance to find someone to push the door of a cider farm with.
